"The Eyrie Vineyards’ "Original Vines" Pinot Noir Reserve is a single-vineyard wine made with fruit harvested exclusively from The Eyrie Vineyard, from vines first planted in 1965. These were the first Pinot noir vines planted in the Willamette Valley. The grapes are harvested by hand when they have achieved optimal and balanced flavor and sugar ripeness. Fermentation is conducted in small lots with manual punchdowns before the wine is transferred to seasoned French oak barrels, where it is left to age for 16 to 24 months. While in barrel, the wine goes through spontaneous and natural malolactic fermentation. Once bottled, it is allowed to age for nearly two years before release."
